IT Software Developer

Position Summary:

The IT Application Development Team works with our business partners to develop new software applications, update and modify existing applications to solve business needs. The team evaluates and processes users' needs to customize the software, designing prototype applications, and developing new solutions. This includes testing source code and troubleshooting issues with software applications.

The software engineer will work with the development team, evaluating existing custom applications for possible upgrades, exploring low code solutions using Dynamics 365, providing support for the document processing solution via the KnowledgeLake platform and increasing workplace productivity by creating digital workflows with no-code forms, documents, and signatures using Formstack.

Salary Range:    $100,000 to $120,000 annually

Location:             NYC/Financial District

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, document, test, and implement efficient business solutions adhering to security best practices and industry standards.
  • Enhance and maintain existing custom .Net applications.
  • Partner with the HDC’s IT PMO and business stakeholders to understand business processes and requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Power Platform and SharePoint Online features, technologies, and industry trends to propose innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Build no code online forms utilizing workflows with Formstack.
  • Work with the business stakeholders to envision, build out, and maintain our SharePoint Intranet site.
  • Help develop, manage, and maintain SharePoint sites, custom libraries, lists and workflows.
  • Provide technical support for scanning of documents and processing for data extraction using the KnowledgeLake platform.
  • Assist with development of case management applications using Dynamics 365
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve issues, as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience working in software engineering/development or implementing Low-code solutions
  • Experience with object-oriented programming
  • Proficient in C# and VB.NET programming languages
  • Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies
  • Having critical thinking skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with writing SQL queries to help with data analysis and presentation
  • Experience in Power Automate, Business Rules and Custom Workflow
  • Experience with Model driven Power Apps
  • Exposure to UI development (HTML, CSS, and Javascript)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of and interest in public service, government (housing) agencies and finance/banking
  • Familiarity with IT project management and/or business analysis practices and methodologies
  • Experience with Dynamics 365
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure development tools and application services
  • Relevant IT certifications
