IT Application Development Intern (Summer)
Internship Summary:
The IT/App Development Team works with the business to develop new software applications and update and modify existing applications to solve business needs. The team evaluates and processes users' needs to customize the software, designing prototype applications, implementing, and testing source code and troubleshooting software applications.
The intern’s role will be to work with the development team, evaluating existing custom applications for possible upgrades, exploring low code solutions using Dynamics 365 for new applications, scanning and indexing documents to our imaging system and using a third party tool to convert paper form submission to online form submissions.

Desired Class Level(s): Undergraduate (Junior or Senior)
Internship Pay Rate: $16/hour
Note: If needed, HDC will fully support an intern’s application for credit or stipend from their school/university.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Assist in the online building of forms with Formstack
- Branding applications utilizing HTML and CSS
- Undertake other tasks as requested
Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in pursuit of a computer science degree
- Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies
- Having critical thinking skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities
- Interest in data, data analysis, and presentation
- Experience with writing SQL queries to help with data analysis and presentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Self-motivated and self-directed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of and interest in public service, government (housing) agencies and finance/banking
- Familiarity with IT project management and/or business analysis practices and methodologies
