Financial Analyst

Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst reports to the Director, Capital Markets and is responsible for tracking bond and mortgage data and creating various reports related to HDC’s debt issuance. Will assist in the analysis of bond call strategies, refundings, cash flow analysis, and new debt structures.

Position Type:     Full Time/Exempt

Salary Range:      $55,000 to $75,000 annually

Office Location:  NYC/Financial District

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination of bond pricings and closings with internal and external parties, including bond underwriters and rating agencies.
  • Review and update documents related to debt issuance and mortgage originations
  • Create portfolio models to support bond issuance, identify alternative finance and operating policies while ensuring adequate resources are available to meet the obligations of HDC using a proprietary cash flow software.
  • Prepare investor presentations
  • Data management and reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
    • Assist IT in preparing standardized management reports and loan tracking information
    • Identify key requirements (systems, reports, processes, interfaces) to sustain existing data structures and update and maintain database information
  • Help create and implement HDC operations policies & procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in a related field such as finance, economics, real estate finance, and/or data management
  • 1-3 years minimum of relevant real estate or bond finance experience and/or mortgage operations; or a satisfactory combination of experience/or education equivalent to the above.
  • Understanding of financial concepts and mortgages
  • Superior organizational, analytic, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong proficiency in data management, use of financial related software programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically advanced Excel skills
