ERIC ENDERLIN HONORED AT COMUNILIFE'S 30th ANNIVERSARY BREAKFAST

 

On Thursday October 31st, HDC President Eric Enderlin was honored at the Comunilife 30th Anniversary Breakfast, celebrating the organization’s ongoing legacy of providing housing and services to vulnerable New Yorkers. This year’s event held at the Marriot Marquis in Times Square highlighted the more than 2,000 units of supportive and affordable housing made possible through dedicated partnership with a range of public and private partners. Proceeds from the Breakfast support Life is Precious, Comunlife’s suicide prevention program for at-risk Latina teens. Eric’s fellow honorees included Daisy Expósito-Ulla Chairman and CEO at d Expósito & Partners, Dr. Mitchell Katz, President and CEO of NYC Health+Hospitals, and John L. Kelly, Partner at Nixon Peabody. Eric is pictured here alongside Dr. Rosa Gil, Founder, President & CEO of Comunilife, and Councilmember Robert Cornegy, Jr.

ERIC ENDERLIN HONORED AT THE 2019 CAMBA NIGHT OUT GALA

 

On Thursday, October 24th, HDC President Eric Enderlin was honored at the 2019 CAMBA Night Out gala. CAMBA celebrated 42 years of providing social services for vulnerable New Yorkers to become economically secure, offering educational programs and workforce development, college access, health and wellness, temporary shelters and permanent affordable housing, youth development programs, and legal services. HDC’S MLRP RECEIVES ULI’S 2019 LARSON HOUSING POLICY LEADERSHIP AWARD 

 

On September 19th, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) announced HDC’s Mitchell-Lama Reinvestment Program (MLRP) as the winner of the 2019 Larson Housing Policy Leadership award for the at their Fall Meeting on Real Estate trends in Washington D. C. Under MLRP, HDC is able to rapidly deploy new capital to provide low-cost, long-term financing needed to anchor the affordability of the approximately 100 remaining Mitchell-Lama developments, consisting of more than 45,000 homes, resulting in the preservation of a significant source of affordable homeownership and rental opportunities in New York City.

HDC EVP FOR DEVELOPMENT ANTHONY RICHARDSON HONORED BY SETTLEMENT HOUSING FUND 

 

On Thursday, June 6th, HDC Executive Vice President for Development Anthony Richardson was honored at Settlement Housing Fund's 50th Anniversary Gala. This year, Settlement Housing Fund also honored Former NYC Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development Alicia Glen, and Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel Partner Charles Warren. Since 1969, the Settlement Housing Fund has worked closely with community partners to create quality affordable housing and social programs that strengthens communities.

HDC RECEIVES 2019 NALHFA’S REDEVELOPMENT EXCELLENCE AWARD

 

On Thursday, May 16th, the National Association for Local Housing Finance Agency’s (NALHFA) announced HDC as the recipient of the 2019 Redevelopment Excellence Award for the ADC Genesis Year 15 Resyndication. The Redevelopment Excellence Award recognizes successful redevelopment programs with large community impact. The ADC Genesis Year 15 Resyndication involved the transfer of ownership, restructuring of debt, and rehabilitation of a scattered-site portfolio of 28 multifamily rental apartment buildings, providing far reaching benefit to the community by not only protecting 358 existing low-income households that would otherwise be at risk of displacement, but also by contributing to the long-term affordability and diversity of the increasingly high-cost Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan.

HDC PRESIDENT ERIC ENDERLIN HONORED BY REBUILDING TOGETHER

 

On Tuesday, May 14th, HDC President Eric Enderlin was honored with the Patty Johnson Outstanding Leadership Award at Rebuilding Together New York City's Annual Coming Home Gala. Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing low-income families with necessary home repairs without burdening them with the cost, providing accessibility modifications, workforce training, and community revitalization.

AHF SELECTS BEACH GREEN DUNES AS READER’S CHOICE AWARDS FINALIST

 

Affordable Housing Finance Magazine (AHF) announced HDC’s submission of Beach Green Dunes as a finalist in the Green category for the 2019 Reader’s Choice Award. Financed under HDC’s Mix & Match program, Beach Green Dunes is a 101-unit Passive House-designed affordable housing development located on formerly vacant City-owned beachfront site in the Edgemere section of Queens. This new construction project features extensive energy efficiencies and resilient design features, including solar panels, energy recovery ventilation systems, and a green roof and terrace.

HDC PRESIDENT ERIC ENDERLIN RECEIVES IMPACCT AWARD

 

On Thursday April 25, Eric Enderlin was honored with the Government IMPACCT award at the 2019 Annual IMPACCT Brooklyn Awards reception, which marked the nonprofit community development corporation’s 55th anniversary. Assemblywoman Diana Richardson was also in attendance and presented this year’s Small Business Champion Award to Greenlight Bookstore, an independent Brooklyn-based bookstore. Since its founding in 1964, IMPACCT Brooklyn has advocated for the preservation and development of housing for low- and moderate-income Brooklynites.

HDC NAMED SUSTAINABILITY BOND AWARD WINNER BY ENVIRONMENTAL FINANCE

 

On April 2nd, Environmental Finance announced HDC as the recipient of the Sustainability Bond of the Year Award in the US Muni category for its $625 million June 2018 issuance, which contributed to the financing of approximately 2,760 units towards the Housing New York plan. The Sustainability Bond of the Year Award recognizes best practices or bond issues that were significant for the development of the sustainable bond market. HDC has issued more than $5.1 billion in Sustainable Neighborhood Bonds (SNBs), since first introducing this innovative new investment category in 2015.

HDC RANKED AMONG BOND BUYER’S TOP 25 MUNICIPAL BOND ISSUERS OF 2018

 

On Wednesday, January 16, The Bond Buyer published its annual Top 25 list of municipal bond issuers in the nation for 2018 and ranked HDC at 21. Acclaiming “HDC vaults 20-plus spots,” the periodical applauded HDC’s move from a previous ranking of 45 in 2017. While the publication listed HDC’s annual issuance at $1.77 billion, when adding in our directly-placed-bond amounts the 2018 grows to $1.8 billion for the year.

PRESIDENT ERIC ENDERLIN HONORED AT ANHD 2018 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

 

On Friday, May 18th, HDC President Eric Enderlin was presented with the Champion of Housing Award by HPD Commissioner Maria Torres-Springer at the Association for Neighborhood & Housing Development (ANHD) 8th Annual Community Development Conference. The award recognizes Eric for his long commitment to and ongoing work for the cause of affordable housing. “Build.Community.Power” was the theme of this year’s conference, which brought together a range of industry leaders and partners for a full day of policy and skills workshops, high-profile plenary speakers, and networking to discuss the most pressing issues surrounding community development today.

NALHFA RECOGNIZES HDC’S ALVISTA TOWERS FOR MULTIFAMILY EXCELLENCE

 

HDC joined housing professionals from around the nation at the 2018 National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA) Annual Conference held in New Orleans May 9-11. During the conference, Rich Froehlich was formally elected as the Association’s 2018-2019 President and also accepted an award on HDC’s behalf for Alvista Towers in the category of Multifamily Excellence. Located in the downtown Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, Alvista Towers is a 380-unit, mixed-income development financed under our Mixed-Middle Income program.

NCHSA AWARDS CEREMONY

 

HDC was recognized for program excellence at the National Council of State Housing Agency (NCSHA) awards ceremony and conference held in Denver, Colorado from Saturday, October 14th to Tuesday, October 17th. The Rental Housing Award in the Multifamily Management category went to HDC for improved Marketing Handbook released in October 2016. The updated Marketing Handbook guidelines ensure the affordable housing application and lottery process is more efficient, fair and transparent.
